ESL Instruction
Overview
The English Language Program, which is a department within the Multilingual & Magnet Department, has three main goals: promoting multilingual family-driven instruction and student engagement, developing English language (EL) instruction and assessment, and collaborating with general education colleagues. Programs create authentic and meaningful relationships with our multilingual families. Students in EL programs receive instruction that is intentional and supportive of English Language Development. And finally, EL teachers engage in collaborative practices as a way to build collective teacher efficacy in ensuring that all students receive equitable instruction and access to learning in every classroom. This is in alignment with Federal (Title III) and State Law (LEAPS Act).
