Fire Sprinkler Shop

Overview

The Sprinkler Fitters promote life and safety for all students, staff and community stakeholders. They are experts in life safety who specialize in the installation, repair, and rigorous testing of fire suppression systems and alarms.The Fire Sprinkler shop maintains fire suppression systems at all District facilities. They perform regulatory testing, inspection and maintenance which meet or exceed the requirements of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and State/local Fire Marshals. Their work includes tests to ensure systems have adequate water supply and water pressure. They have monthly, quarterly, semi-annual testing of wet, dry and pre-action fire sprinkler systems, semi-annual testing of Ansul kitchen hood fire suppression systems, monthly churn tests and inspection of fire pumps, and standpipes. There is also a 5-year inspection plan.
