Division of Academics

Overview

The Academic Division of Minneapolis Public Schools is the engine for instructional excellence, dedicated to ensuring all students learn and grow into confident, skilled citizens of the 21st century. Guided by a vision of liberated scholars and inspired educators, the division centers its work on racial equity, research-based practices, and direct student impact. To achieve exceptional outcomes, the division integrates a diverse range of departments including Academic Programs; American Indian Education; Community Education; Core Academics; Multilingual & Magnet Programming, Multitiered System of Supports (MTSS); Office of Black Student Achievement; and the Office of Latine Achievement. By leveraging data and evidence-based strategies, these departments work in concert to dismantle barriers, foster engaged communities, and ensure every student has the tools to succeed.
